The most life-like way to replace failing or missing teeth

Dental Implants bring you as close to growing new teeth as possible. Expertly placed in the same bone that once supported teeth, you’ll enjoy the strength and function of a natural tooth. Modern porcelains produce a result so life-like, you may forget they aren’t your natural teeth. The stability and sense of confidence you develop with implants will leave you smiling.

If you are considering choosing a tooth implant to restore your smile, the first place to start is an evaluation with Dr. Dhillon. He will perform a thorough examination and take x-rays of your teeth and jawbone to ensure that your bone can successfully support a dental implant.

Our team will help you learn how you can fit implant dentistry into your budget and guide you through the entire process at our dental office. Contact Orinda Family Dentistry today at (925) 253-0165 to arrange a time for your dental implant exam.

Single & Multi-Tooth Implants

Single Tooth Implant

Dental implant restorations are prosthetic teeth that are designed to attach to your implant, and restore your smile. For Single Tooth Implants, a dental crown is usually used. This crown functions just like a real tooth and is crafted to fit into your smile perfectly. In conjunction with the titanium implant, your new tooth will function just like your natural tooth did.

Single Tooth Implants can be treated just like a natural tooth. Simply brush and floss your teeth normally, and your implant will remain healthy and strong for years to come. Dental implants typically last 30+ years with proper care.

Multi-Tooth Implant Bridge

A Multi-Tooth Implant Bridge is similar to a Single Tooth Implant, but is used to replace a series of failing or missing teeth. Two dental implant screws are placed into the jaw bone and a series of strong, custom teeth bridge the gap.

Frequently Asked Questions

Dental Implants in Orinda, CA

What are dental implants?

Dental implants are permanent tooth root replacements. They consist of a small, screw-like post (usually made of titanium) that is surgically placed into your jawbone. This post fuses with the bone to provide a secure and stable foundation for a custom-made crown, bridge, or denture.

Most people are candidates for dental implants, but suitability depends on your overall health, the amount of bone available at the implant site, and your commitment to oral hygiene. We highly recommend a free consultation with Dr. Dhillon where he can review your medical history and take 3D scans to determine the best treatment plan for you.

The surgical placement of the implant post usually takes about 30 minutes to an hour. The entire process, from surgery to receiving the final crown, typically spans three to six months. This time allows for a critical healing period called osseointegration, where the implant fuses securely with your jawbone.

The implant placement surgery is usually performed using local anesthesia, so you should feel no pain during the procedure. We also offer deeper IV sedation for patients who prefer to be fully sedated during their procedure.

Post-surgery discomfort is typically mild and managed easily with over-the-counter pain relievers, similar to recovery from a tooth extraction.

With proper care—including regular brushing, flossing, and routine dental checkups—dental implants are designed to be a permanent, lifelong solution. The crown attached to the implant may need replacement after 10 to 15 years due to normal wear and tear, but the implant post itself should last indefinitely.

Dental implants have an excellent track record, boasting a success rate of over 95%, making them one of the most reliable procedures in modern dentistry. Success is highly dependent on good oral hygiene and general health.

Implants offer significant benefits: they prevent jawbone loss, restore nearly full chewing power, eliminate the need for adhesives, feel and function like natural teeth, and allow you to speak and smile with renewed confidence.

Caring for dental implants is just like caring for natural teeth. You must brush twice a day, floss daily (using specialized implant floss or brushes), and maintain your routine professional dental cleanings and exams.

Yes. Implants are incredibly versatile. They can replace a single missing tooth, several missing teeth using an implant-supported bridge, or an entire arch of teeth using solutions like All-on-4 or implant-supported dentures.

Coverage varies significantly by insurance plan. While some policies may cover a portion of the cost, many treat implants as an elective procedure. Our team can help you check your specific benefits and explore our financing options.
